Dutchess Woman Faces Second DWI After Retrieving Car From Impound, Police Say

One DWI charge wasn't enough for one Dutchess County woman this weekend.

A  woman from Fishkill received her second DWI in two days after she picked up her vehicle from impound, police said.

New York State Police troopers from Wappinger stopped Donna Zeller, 63, on Saturday, Dec. 15 on Route 9 when she committed a vehicle and traffic violation while traveling in Fishkill.

Police said that at the time of the traffic stop on Saturday, Zeller had just picked up her vehicle from impound after being arrested for a DWI the previous day. Further investigation during the traffic stop found that Zeller was impaired by alcohol and she was arrested for a second time.

Zeller was arrested and charged with a felony driving while intoxicated charge. She has since been released. No return court date has been announced.
